Fixed-Income Investing Strategy

Fixed-income investing is a strategy centered on investing in assets that provide regular interest payments and return of principal at maturity, such as government and corporate bonds, GICs, and fixed-income ETFs.

It’s often used to preserve capital, generate steady income, and reduce overall portfolio risk—especially important for conservative investors or those nearing retirement. Fixed-income securities tend to be less volatile than equities, offering more stability, but they can be sensitive to inflation and interest rate changes. By balancing income and safety, fixed-income investing plays a crucial role in diversified portfolios and long-term financial planning.
