Linde is a leading industrial gas and engineering company serving customers in more than 100 countries worldwide. It was formed as a result of the business combination of Praxair and Linde AG in October 2018.
The company serves a variety of end markets including manufacturing (31% of total sales), chemicals & energy (21%), metals & glass (15%), healthcare (17%), food and beverage (8%), and electronics (8%).
It has a large geographic presence with the Americas accounting for 38% of total sales, followed by EMEA (25%), APAC (21%), Engineering (10%) and others (6%). Linde is the largest industrial gas company worldwide and its gases are used in a number of applications, ranging from life-saving oxygen for hospitals to high-purity & specialty gases for electronics manufacturing, hydrogen for clean fuels and much more.
Its four geographic segments, North & South Americas, Europe and Asia generated nearly 76% of total 2018 revenues, and since the merger, the Linde segment has generated 19% of consolidated sales. The surface technologies segment generated the remaining 5% of sales.
